The College at Brockport’s Golden Eagle Cheerleaders have been dominating the competition scene for their 2018 season.

The college is home to two squads, Small Novice All-Girl (Brockport Gold) and Small Advanced All-Girl (Brockport Green). The Brockport Gold team competes at Level 4 while the Brockport Green team competes at Level 6, the highest level there is in cheerleading.

The Brockport Green team was marked as undefeated before heading to the SHOUT! Nationals’ competition in Hershey, Pennsylvania this past weekend. The members of the team say that they have loved every moment of the season thus far and are very excited to compete at Nationals.

Kennedy Light, 18, enjoys cheering for Brockport, as it is different from what she has experienced in the past.

“I think the different stunts we get to do, the activities we get to perform at — I think that’s the fun part about cheering here at Brockport.” Light said, reminiscing on her first season as a Golden Eagle.

Team mate Bridget Robson, 19, could not agree more.

“It’s nice to just be able to travel, go and compete,” Robson said. “[Going] against teams that we don’t normally see around here, that’s cool.”

Both Brockport Green and Gold left the competition with  first place trophies, earning the title of National Champions. Brockport Green was also awarded Best Stunts & Pyramid and Collegiate Grand Champions.

Overall, Brockport Green finished their 2017-2018 year with a perfect season.
